Fantastic wrapper dress circa 1860s in the most beautiful shade of iridescent midnight purple with black velvet trim.
Silk with a glazed cotton lining throughout, tarlatan / muslin at the hem, and twill tape inside the waistband.
Black velvet button closures about three quarters down the front, it does not open fully. One hook and eye closure at the front waist.
Gathered at the waist around the sides and back. She is hand sewn and charmingly imperfect with so many tiny stitches and beautiful details!
Voluminous skirt, shown with a petticoat underneath, which is not included.

Wonderful condition, especially considering her age. Minor wear here and there, but no major flaws to note. Please be aware this is a very old garment so she is not perfect. Due to age she is best for study.
