I love 1890s boots! The shape and the diamond toe stitching are the cutest, and these are no exception.
Brown lace up boots with a scalloped top edge circa 1890s. A unique design and very well made.
There is cotton twill tag on the inside of each boot denoting a size 5, which is about equivalent to a modern US size 7 (please check measurements below to confirm).
Very tempted to keep these...get them before I change my mind!
+++ Measurements +++
Sizing on boots is always approximate, and I urge you to take careful measurements and ask any questions prior to purchasing.
I believe these are an approximate size 7 US women's (I wear a 7.5 they fit with thin stockings), but please check the following measurements.
9.75" inner sole length
3" width measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot, and 9 1/2" circumference at the same spot measured from the outside
1" heel
11 1/4" total height
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition for their age with some minor wear.
Leather is super soft and supple. Some scuffs and minor wear around the ankles, heels, toes. Soles are slightly worn. New waxed cotton laces have been added.
No lining inside and the leather is thin, so I would recommend these only for short-term, extra careful wear.
Please do keep in mind they are antiques. I highly suggest finding a good cobbler. It is usually quite affordable to have repairs done.
These boots were made to last a lifetime, and with the proper care and repairs when needed, they will!
