Incredible and super scarce, these blue velveteen and black patent leather boots are one of a kind.
Circa late 1910s to early 1920s, they have a unique scalloped design on the vamp that reminds me of a bat wing!
Made by Simon's Shoes, Altoona, PA.
I've never come across another pair like this!
+++ Measurements +++
Sizing on boots is always approximate, and I urge you to take careful measurements and ask any questions prior to purchasing.
I believe these are an approximate size 7.5-8 US women's (I wear a 7.5 and they fit me), but please check the following measurements. They are marked as a size 39, but seem to run a bit small.
10.25" inner sole length
3" width measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot, and 9 3/8" circumference at the same spot measured from the outside
2.25" heel
11.5" total height
+++ Condition +++
Lovely condition overall! They have some minor wear, a couple of little blemishes in the velveteen, some scuffing to the patent leather, and general wear to the soles.
They have new black waxed cotton laces.
These are wearable with care, but do keep in mind they are antiques. I highly suggest finding a good cobbler. It is usually quite affordable to have repairs done.
These boots were made to last a lifetime, and with the proper care and repairs when needed, they will!
