Before the days of sunglasses, there were tinted glasses, believed by some to improve vision, but also worn for the sake of fashion by others.

These gorgeous amber tinted eyeglasses date from the late 19th century. They have silver tone wire frames that are flexible to fit a range of sizes. I do not often find them in this color!

Marked TAW & Co. in the inside of the bridge.

The lenses are tinted but are not magnifying or prescription, just glass.

+++ Measurements +++

Approx 4.5" across from hinge to hinge.

+++ Condition +++

Great condition for their age and very wearable. The lenses have a couple of scuffs and scratches and one small chip, but I have worn these and this does not affect wear. The silver tone metal frames have some patina.

These are wearable with care at your own risk (the lenses are made of glass, and therefore do not meet modern safety regulations).
