Very beautiful and hard to find, a pair of solid 14k gold pince nez magnifying glasses with hair pin and chain. Circa 1880s-1890s.
These glasses would sit pinched on the bridge of the nose, and the hair pin would secure the glasses (perhaps in case they fell off the nose) and it looks quite lovely as well!
The nose grips are made of cork. I was able to find something that looks like an identical pair from an 1889 "Busiest House in America" catalog. See the last photo for reference.
Box is for display purposes only and is not included with the listing.
