Exquisite black Chantilly lace shawl c. 1860s.
A very large, triangular shaped shawl with scalloped edges. The lace design is quite intricate and depicts a beautiful floral scene.
+++ Measurements +++
114” x 80” x 80”
+++ Condition +++
Very good condition with a couple of minor flaws to note. A small hole in the lace (I was only able to find one, but it is possible there are some very very small ones I missed, as it is a very large shawl). Some loose threads and fraying around the edges, as shown. These could be repaired if desired.
No odors or soiling. A beautiful example and the best condition I've ever seen!
